Deposition

Sworn testimony taken outside of court, usually in a conference room. A court reporter records everything said, and the testimony can be used later in the case.

In a personal injury case:
You, the defendant, medical providers, and witnesses may all be deposed.

What to know:

  • You are under oath—lying can severely harm your case.

  • Listen carefully, answer only the question asked, and don’t guess.

  • Your attorney can object to improper questions and help prepare you.
